Despite a long game day at the lake, I came home and talked myself in to staying on track by finishing up the day with Ab Ripper X. They call it that for a reason. I think it’s going to be a good month before I’m able to complete all the reps in this workout, not even considering completing them with good form. Did I mention it is the shortest of the lot, only running 15 minutes?! Any longer and I have a feeling you might actually pull in half. Totally worth it though. I don’t know if I’ll be able to move tomorrow, but I feel like I really got something DONE.

3 days down, 87 days to go.

Today’s workout was an hour of arms and shoulders. Loved this workout!! Definitely in my element here! I still have pretty great arm shape from all of the martial arts weaponry. I blew through this and was fully of ENERGY by the time it was over! I feel ready to run a marathon!! Would adore a good run, but I know I’ll regret over doing things. It was really fabulous to feel strong all the way through an hour-long p90x. Also, have to get through the ab ripper at some point today. But… it’s GAME DAY! So, it’ll have to wait!

Tomorrow’s workout is yoga! Joining up with J for this one! Really looking forward to it!!

I woke up this morning expecting to be incredibly sore from last night’s workout, however it wasn’t as bad as I expected. I could definitely tell I’d concentrated on my core, and I had a little tightness in my shoulders and hamstrings, as well as a small amount of swelling an pain in my Achilles’ tendon (my own fault for wearing the 4 inch heels much to often as of late!) Over all I felt more awake and alert than I have in months (also probably helped by having almost cleansed my body of meds). Unfortunately, my day at work started with getting sick. I don’t know if it’s from tapering off the meds too quickly or perhaps the new multi-vitamin I started that morning or just a plain old stomach bug, but it was misery! I went straight home and spent the day drinking heaps of water, resting, and letting myself nap when the mood struck. I was able to eat a good dinner, but still felt a little nauseated. When I got home I looked at the stack of p90x and took stock of myself. Was I really going to let myself off the hook on the SECOND DAY?? Not a chance. I went ahead and jumped into the second workout of my plan the Cardio X.

Even though this disc was only 40 minutes long (compared to last night’s hour long workout), I had a lot more difficulty. I could REALLY feel the burn and exhaustion in my hamstrings and arms from last night’s workout. I also was feeling a bit shaky still from the upset stomach, but I just worked as hard as I could and let myself take water breaks when I needed too. It would normally frustrate me to no end to back off from a work out, but I actually gave myself props for doing what I could do instead of bailing all together when I wasn’t feeling tip top. I think I’m more proud of being firm but gentle with myself than of anything else I accomplished by doing this workout!

2 days down, 88 to go!

… is to let go of fear.

I have spent the past couple years being more than a little aggravated at doctors. For this and that ailment they have basically taken stabs at solutions- prescribing medications willy nilly until my body has completely been turned inside out and upside down. That part I could stand. It’s the 30 extra pounds it brought with it that I’d rather like to show the door. So, I’ve decided that there is no time like the present to make some serious changes. I’m booting the meds, getting back to eating fresh and delicious food, and starting to really challenge my body like I used to enjoy doing so much.

I am 30 years old, 5′4”, and weigh 126 lbs. And as my daughter would say, “This makes us… a little bit angry.” So, today I have decided to take the advice of some dear friends and challenge myself to 90 days of the p90x workout videos. Tonight marked round one. I began with the hour-long Core Synergistics disc. I must say it was a blast! Really intense, but Tony Horton was a blast! He was just so dang perky! I couldn’t help myself, I had to keep going. My favorite exercise from this disc was the Banana Superman. Okay, 90% of my enjoyment probably came from the name, but it was a fun move, too! I really enjoyed my trial run, and I’m super motivated to keep going. I felt a little tired during the work out, but stayed motivated and blew through my wall. Post workout I feel outstanding, though I think I could eat an entire cow (and I don’t even eat cow!). We’ll see if the puma-like tendencies last til morning. For now– sleep. I’ve earned it!

1 day down, 89 days to go!
